Workers Install Final Y-Column and Box Beam
Just four months after the first Y-column and box beam were installed at the headhouse of the Kansas City International Airport New Terminal project, the final few pieces are now in place. The last of the 25 massive columns and beams were recently placed as the construction team wrapped work for 2020. When complete, passengers will access ticketing, security and baggage services in the headhouse, otherwise known as the front door of the New Terminal. The 65-foot-tall Y-columns and 115-foot-long box beams will support the exterior roof and overhangs. Watch a video of the installation.
