Work Begins on Boarding Bridge Foundations
The 39-passenger boarding bridge foundations are underway on the Kansas City International Airport New Terminal project. Crews from JE Dunn are placing rebar cages underground before pouring concrete to create the foundation shape. Each passenger boarding bridge foundation base is five feet wide and four feet thick, while the anchor bolts placed in each are more than three feet long and two inches thick. When the New Terminal opens, 90 percent of each passenger boarding bridge foundation will be covered by the concrete aircraft parking apron. Visit our Image Gallery to view larger photos.
