Project Looks Back at Year One Progress

Today marks one year since the final demolition of Terminal A at KCI Airport. A lot has changed on the New Terminal Project jobsite since then! Progress on the New Terminal to date includes the following milestones. View the time lapse video.
• Welcoming more than 150 Kansas City-area businesses to the project team with more to be added in the coming months
• Over 120,000 tons of concrete and steel from Terminal A and its parking garage has been repurposed or recycled
• More than 2,600 deep foundation auger cast piles have been installed for the terminal and elevated roadway
• Slab-on-grade foundation, concrete column and slab-on-metal deck pours are ongoing across the jobsite
• Over 2,200 pieces of structural steel have been installed
• Elevated roadway structure is taking shape as concrete columns finish and deck pours begin
• Garage mockups have been erected for review of components
• Mechanical, electrical and plumbing trades have started work in the New Terminal building
