First Box Beam Installed
With Y-Columns in place, Build KCI crews were able to install the first box beam on the KCI New Terminal headhouse. Each box beam weighs over 82,000 pounds and spans 115 feet in length. The grey section of the beam will be located inside the finished structure; the white portion will be part of the exterior roof and overhang. The headhouse, located next to the elevated roadway, will contain ticket counters, baggage service and security checkpoints.
